Job Summary:

To plan, project and identify the requirements of the Home Décor, Furniture, outdoor products, purchasing the required quantities which meet customer needs, thereby maximizing profits and providing a commercially viable range of products

 

Duties & Responsibilities/Deliverables:

  • Specialized in establishing and further developing the Home category (including Home Décor, Home Furnishings, Gifts and Outdoor products)
  • Build a strong network and maintain good relations with international and domestic suppliers 
  • Develop and select the most relevant products for our target customer and ensuring they are priced competitively 
  • Researching & preparing current trends
  • Researching the competition in terms of product, pricing and display 
  • Team work with logistic and planning team to ensure deliveries are on time
  • Team work with production, post-production, call centre and social media team to ensure product briefings and trainings are hold punctually and accurately.
  • Responsible for forecast, budget, and evaluate inventory decisions 
  • Meeting suppliers, placing orders, and managing supplier relationships. Handle and Manage the entire product cycle from product sourcing, via product testing, QA, PO issue.
  • Ensure packaging and labelling are in line with Company policies as well as Municipality Requirements, and deliveries are on time

 

Education:

 University Degree in any discipline followed by qualification in Retailing or Retail Management/ Purchase/ Sales or related programs.

 

Skills & Experience Required:

 

Experience:

  • 5 years of experience as a Buyer for a retail chain / multi-brand stores or e-shop platform.
  • Experience working in the GCC, with in-depth knowledge of Beauty Brands, Cosmetics ranges and Health and Fitness home solutions.
  • Experience buying from 20+ brands for the GCC market 

Skills Set:

  • Team player but with ability to work on own initiative
  • Critical time management
  • Very strong network of contacts with local and international brands and distributors Fluent in English & ideally in Arabic
  • Other qualities: Strong negotiation skills. Team Player. Problem solving

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet objectives and deadlines
